The Problem With Starting Over Every Monday

Every Monday can feel like a reset button.

New diet. New rules. New food list. New workout plan. New promise that this time will be different.

Then real life happens.

You go out to dinner. Work gets busy. You miss a workout. You eat something you weren't supposed to eat. The plan feels broken, so you decide you'll start again next Monday.

This cycle can continue for years.

Cutting the crap means questioning the assumption that one imperfect decision requires a complete restart. It doesn't.

A sustainable approach has room for restaurants, celebrations, holidays, busy days, favorite foods, and unexpected problems. Those aren't interruptions to real life. They are real life.

Weight loss requires understanding the fundamentals: energy balance, food choices, protein, hunger, activity, habits, and maintenance. But knowing the fundamentals is only useful if you can apply them when conditions aren't perfect.

Instead of asking, 'How do I stay perfect?' ask, 'How do I get back to my normal routine after an imperfect day?'

That question changes everything. You stop looking for a temporary challenge and start building a system you can live with.

The goal isn't to lose weight once. The goal is to become the kind of person who doesn't have to lose the same weight twice.
